Holiday a’comin

Boni Maroni with calciteJust wanted to let you know that the office and studio will be closed Thursday, August 30 through Monday, September 3 for the Labor Day holiday and a brain break.  We’ll be baaaaaaaack on Tuesday, September 4, getting out orders and answering emails as quickly as humanly possible.  Maybe we’ll even rope the cats in to help. Do you think that would be good? After all Boni Maroni really likes stones.

Jade Q&A

Question:

“I have some rings, from my grandmother, that are jade. My aunt put the rings in silver cleaner. Is there anything I can do to fix the jade stones in the rings? Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it!”

My Answer:

Jade is a soft stone that can be damaged permanently by harsh silver cleaners or other harsh chemicals. Harsh chemicals usually strip off the surface of the stone, and sometimes a good lapidarist can repolish the stone. The only thing I know of that you could possibly do is get a local jeweler or lapidarist to look and see if they can be repolished.  You might do a google search for lapidary clubs in your area to find someone who could look at them (without it costing a fortune) and at least give you an idea if it’s possible. Good luck with it!

Eni is on a roll

Eni Oken has another new tutorial up. Woo!  Go get it right here.  This one is a spiral pendant. Yum yum.

As I mention every time, do Eni and all of us all a favor, don’t share them or give them to folks - if we all pay for them, she can keep her prices outrageously low like they are now.  She does incredibly high quality tutorials with tons of photos and great instructions. They’re more than worth the few bucks she asks for them.

Great News and Thank You

In my newsletter that I sent out Monday, I asked for prayers and healing energy for the daughter of one of my cat blogging friends.  Yesterday I got the great news that BabyBean (sorry, I can’t give out her name) is home! After the Healing Prayer Circle Monday night, and all the wonderful prayers and Reiki you guys sent, she was suddenly up and around on Tuesday morning, acting like herself!  And Tuesday they were even able to determine for the first time that in spite of the burns on her face, her eyes were not damaged at all.  The doctors even believe she’ll have minimal scarring from this accident. :)  She’s a very blessed little girl, and I’m so happy that she’s back home and doing great! One of the wonderful cat blogging ladies is even doing a cat quilt raffle to raise funds to help with BabyBean’s medical expenses, and I’ll keep you posted on that, if you’re so inclined.

Thank you so much all for the prayers and Reiki. Please keep them heading her way as long as you can. We’d love to see her grow up without any scarring from this encounter with a scalding bowl of soup, Divine willing.

*hugs*, Thank You,
and Many Blessings :)

Dreams Can Come True

Until today, I’d never heard of Britain’s Got Talent or Paul Potts. Now I have, and I’m still wiping tears off my cheeks. He always dreamed of singing opera. He spend his life savings to study it. And from a cell phone salesman to a winner with a record contract, he’s done it. He’s made his dream come true.  Look what we can do if we’re willing to follow our dreams.
