New Easier Blog Set-up! I’ve rearrange some things here at a crystals & jewelry adventure so that they’re easier to find. In particular, I’ve rearranged the metaphysical and crystal healing info into a crystals and metaphysical healing lore section because so many people are looking for specifically that type of information.
New Goodies! There are new Unique Individual Quartz Crystals up at CrystalsAndJewelry.com. Plus there’s new Crystals Formations info for two new types of crystals, plus a couple of new photos in that section.
I’ve also added Security information to the Terms page at CrystalsAndJewelry.com. I know I secure all credit card information and the like, and I’m actually pretty darned fanatical about it. I pay what to me is a great deal of money monthly to ensure that it’s a secure as possible. But I realized I hadn’t been telling anyone about it. Oops! With PCI DSS compliance and other security things being on folks minds, I figured I’d better get to mentioning it! Privacy information is there on the Terms page too.
I’m getting an increasing amount of forwarded chain email that threatens my wellbeing in some way or tries to guilt me into sending it on. The threats are things like “16 years bad luck” from one recent one, and guilts are like “If I don’t get this back I’ll know why” hinting that it’s because I don’t like the sender from another recent one.
I’m sorry if you believe those things. The fact is that I don’t ever send on chain emails. I find that chain emails often make people feel scared or bad in other ways, and are not in line with the good will I try to spread. I don’t believe a chain email of any sort has the power to give me either good or bad luck, but if I’m mistaken I’ll take on that bad luck if need be, but I won’t pass it on to anyone else. And the fact that I don’t return or send on a chain email that purports that the reason why is because I don’t like them is incorrect. I don’t spread chain emails to friends, family, or even people I may dislike. I simply don’t do it.
Before sending any chain email, consider these things.
Chain emails that can potentially frighten people of getting bad luck can make people feel bad.
Chain emails that purport to know anything about why a person sends or doesn’t send them can make people feel bad, guilty, and are probably inaccurate.
Chain emails clog email servers and slow more important emails down sometimes.
Chain emails can make your own email address sent to spam catchers so that your other emails may get caught by black holes or other spam catching devices.
I do not believe that chain emails are useful or kind. I simply won’t send them, and now you know why.
I don’t get new photos of myself up very often. Frankly, I think crystals and stones and jewelry are more interesting to look at.
I happened to look up when I was photographing the last batch of stones and thought “oh this is funny” so I snapped a couple of photos of me and my camera in the mirror. The mirror is there to help distribute light from the photo lights. But it caught me, and Johnny Depp in the background. Johnny’s fun to look at though. Almost as fun as crystals. hehehe
That’s me, though, behind the camera. Hmmms. Can’t see my smile. Ah well, you can tell it’s there. You can see my shipping stuff and whatnot too. How fun! hehehe
How perfect that as the Endeavor takes off into the sky to finally build the Japanese part of the orbiting space station, the last piece belonging to a country that’s in the project, the fires of takeoff look like a dove flying into the night.
I’ve never actually seen a total Lunar Eclipse in person. It’s always after I’m asleep or, as was the case in February, too cloudy. So I was tickled to see this video of it, so I thought I’d share it.
There are laws as to how much lead any jewelry, or part of a piece of jewelry, may contain. This can vary widely from state to state and country to country. For the most part, we don’t want to sell leaded jewelry to much of anyone. But sometimes we’re not very aware of just what might be leaded. For instance, anything with Swarovski crystals, which are leaded crystals, would have to be marked as to lead safety. California has some of the most stringent leaded jewelry laws in the US, and since their laws affect everyone who sells on the internet, it makes good sense to learn about them and abide by them. Plus, it’s safer for the folks who wear our jewelry.
Today is Across the Universe Day NASA has invited people around the world to play “Across the Universe” on their audio systems at the same time NASA beams its mp3 version into outer space. The idea was hatched by Beatles’ historian Martin Lewis, who encourages all Beatles fans to play the track as it is being beamed to the distant star. Additionally, this date will be known as “Across the Universe Day”. The event marks the first time a radio song has been beamed into deep space. The time is 0:00 GMT (7PM EST).
[I’ve removed the song player because it had no way to stop the music, which slows down some computers quite a bit.]
I’ll sing along here.
I was very upset to find out that Saturday, the Multistone International office and warehouse caught fire and burned to the ground. The only good thing that I can find to say about it was that it was a blessing the fire occurred early in the morning when no one was at work yet, so all the staff and management are unharmed.
Multistone President Larry Hargrave is a friend of many years, and it was he who helped me get started in the crystals business. This loss was a great sadness to me, and a terrible blow everyone at Multistone. I went up to visit Larry and everyone for the past couple of days, and lend what help I could. I’ve returned now, both to take care of my work, and to do what I can from here.
I have had some cut stones of theirs for months now that he was planning to have me set in wire-wrap. These stones are probably the last of their inventory since the building and contents are believed to be a total loss. Since at this point they have no way of working at all and no other stock, I will be helping out by consigning these stones for him, wrapping them for customers if desired, at no cost for the consignment to him. I’m in the process of getting photos taken and will have them available for sale as soon as possible.
Prayers and good wishes for all the people and crystal beings at Multistone who were affected is much appreciated by all.
I had a small scented candle burning sitting right next to where I was working on some jewelry. It was late, and I often like to mess with new jewelry designs for fun and relaxation. No problem. No problem, that is, until my cat Pepi decided to jump up on the desk and landed right on the candle. Ack! I put his flaming fur out, with minimal damage to show for it; Only a bit of singed fur on him, and a jammed thumb plus a couple of tiny wax burns on me. No big deal, as it turned out. And a small price for a big lesson on cats and candles. I’ve had cats and candles together for 25 years and never had one get burned. But it can happen at any time. I’ll have to find some way to make it so Pepi can’t possibly land on, by or in a candle no matter how careless he or I might be. Until then, no burning candles. It could have been far, far worse. I’m so thankful it wasn’t.
