I am exactly the same way. No matter how much I like the person sending the chain email, I don’t / won’t respond. It stops with me.
Right now, according to the chain emails I’ve stopped, I won’t be getting into Heaven, will never see an “amazing graphics display” on my monitor, will not be having a surprise at 9:12 AM, and have been accuring untold years of bad luck.
Having been a network engineer, my reasoning has always been practical, that chain emails slow servers down for real communication. And personally, I detest the “guilt” they use for motivation.
Just my two-cents.

At some time in your life your negative thinking got you some where. Thank those thoughts and let them know you know they are trying to help. Tell them they are no longer any use to you and get back to thinking those things you want.

Better still-go out and do something fun and stop thinking all together!
